REQUIREMENTS FOR FINAL PROJECT: YOUR FIRST VBLOG

Be sure to read the post WRAPPING UP OUR PARTICIPANT-OBSERVATION below this one. Read it first if you can.

The intention is to complete the loop, we are studying 2.0 user-generated content and the final should be in that medium.

1. From now and over the weekend, create the idea/story for a 1 min to 5 min recorded vblog on what you got from the course for you, in your own words. What you will take away. Youtube videos can be up to 10 mins long, but the best ones are about 2-5 mins. You cannot load anything longer than 10 mins.
   
   
2. You have to be resourceful. Borrow a friend digital video camera (the regular dig cam), use your cell phone camcorder, or record it in a computer lab or in someone's home who has a MAC or a flip video camera. You have the technology at your fingertips.
   
   
3. Reuse your previous texts (your Foucault Remix, your blogging) whenever possible to give the feel of a remix and to give some flow to your 1-5 min video. Don't do just ONE CUT. Notice what ill doc does. Lots of takes and edits them together. Do what you can.
   
   
4. Be sure to review Mike Wesch's video on the history of YouTube.
   
   esp. from 12:50 - 23:58 [who is on YouTube?] ; and
   esp. from 24:59 - 29:45 [on identity and public space]
   
   
5. Upload the first draft of your vblog to your own blog by next Tue DEC 16 at 11:59pm.
   
   
6. Upload a final draft to your own YouTube Channel and/or posted as a video response to Professor G's vblog on her kyraocity YouTube channel by Thu DEC 18 at 11:59pm.
   Yes! I am going to do the first video blog or vblog which I promise to have a first draft done by Thu (which will be a major feat for me but I am making the promise!)
   
   
7. IT IS CRITICAL THAT YOU HAVE AT LEAST ONE REVISION so you can reflect on how you record and who you are when recorded.
   

You have an agreement to turn work in on time UNLESS you request an extension by the last day of classes.
