I just wanted to make a comment about voting and the “Rock the Vote” campaign.
I think that a large portion of the population that are actually eligible to vote rely too much on the notion that their votes don’t count. There are soooooo many people NOT voting, NOT letting their voices get heard and NOT standing up for change, that we’re probably going to end up with the same embarrassing results that we’ve seen in that last eight years.
I think those that didn’t vote before should learn from their mistakes (if they’re even smart enough to realize they committed one) and come out to vote this time around. It’s like drinking and driving, you’re putting everyone else’s life (including yours) in danger by committing such a senseless act.
The “Rock the Vote” campaign has a great strategy that will most likely influence young voters to come out and vote. They use people in the entertainment industry like, Christina Aguilera and Soulja Boy, to show support and encourage participation. I love their concept and very much hope that young and old eligible voters come out on Election Day to contribute to what can either result in another 4 years of a disaster or an appointment that will forever change US history.
“Rock the Vote” has a Facebook application and I encourage everyone that has an account to add it. Pass it on to friends and family! OR go to their website, request a packet and start your own voter registration drive. BE ACTIVE AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Don't let others decide for you!
